<description>Hi, Roy -- I just dropped by because I&#039;m a big fan of your blog, and I wanted to share some news:

Stitcher Brings Talk Radio to Palm® webOS™

Stitcher today announced the release of its streaming-audio application for the Palm webOS platform

San Francisco, October 6, 2009 – Stitcher, an award-winning provider of news and talk radio for mobile phone users, announces one of the first talk-radio apps for the Palm® Pre™. To download Stitcher’s app, visit the Palm App Catalog on your Palm Pre phone and search for “stitcher.”

“We are thrilled to introduce talk-radio streaming for Palm webOS, giving Palm Pre owners access to premier news, sports, talk and entertainment shows wherever they are, whenever they want,” said Stitcher CEO and co-founder Noah Shanok. “The Palm Pre is a unique device, and we’re excited to release our talk-radio solution to the Palm App Catalog.”

Stitcher is already a top iPhone and BlackBerry app, and the company continues to roll out new versions for cutting-edge mobile platforms. The app’s release for Palm webOS is especially notable because unlike most mobile platforms, Palm webOS allows audio apps like Stitcher to play in the background while listeners use other functions on their devices.

The Stitcher app for Palm Pre, iPhone and BlackBerry mobile phones allows users to enjoy leading digital content in an audio format, on the go – also known as Smart Radio. Stitcher’s release onto the Palm webOS platform marks yet another stride the company has taken toward making free Smart Radio available to all mobile phone users.

Smart Radio

Smart Radio is a rapidly emerging media category that combines the mobility of radio with the content availability and choice of Internet technology. With Smart Radio, anyone with an Internet connection can stream on-demand audio to their mobile devices, customizing their programming to fit their individual preferences and interests – from music to talk to information.

Stitcher

Stitcher is Smart Radio for mobile phones. With Stitcher’s free mobile phone app, Palm Pre, iPhone and Blackberry listeners have the ability to access their favorite digital audio content anytime, anywhere. By streaming the best in news, sports, talk and entertainment straight to mobile phones, Stitcher is the easiest way to stay connected to the world on the go – receiving only the information that’s most important, in a format that fits into people’s busy lives. The company was recently honored with the 2009 “People’s Voice Webby” award for Mobile News and a “Best of ‘09” award from San Francisco magazine. Smartphone users can download Stitcher quickly and easily at www.Stitcher.com or in the Palm, iPhone or BlackBerry app stores.
